The sound in Manic Miner on the spectrum used to drive me crazy, and I don't miss it. But that's not the reason for not including sound in this version - my reason was simply laziness. Ideally I'd like to have had the sound in, with an option to turn it off. But what can you do? :-) |

great game and nice site.
a little observation, in level 4 when willy jumps into the flashing box, i remember his legs staying flat on the ground rather than off the ground! i used to play this on Spectrum+ 48k.

There's no known way of getting unlimited lives in Flash Manic Miner, but you could always play the original Spectrum version using:
* Bug-Byte edition: POKE 35136,0 (Hex 8940: 00)
or
* Software Projects edition: POKE 35142,0 (Hex 8946: 00) |

Can you load http://www.darnkitty.com/manic/ up to the point of seeing the title-screen, which says "PRESS SPACE TO START"?

Having now read through the previous posts I have found the answer to the kong beast question.
However, regarding high scores, I always finish level 1 on either 1697 or 1676.
I remember this was the case back in 1982 too. |

1802 is the perfect entry-score (without loss of life) for Cavern 2 on this version of Manic Miner, but unlike in the Spectrum original, you can jump down onto the conveyor in Cavern 1 and walk the wrong way along it.

Hi kimminermad, I'm glad you love the site, don't have any plans to put up any of the other miner games, I wish I could work on the site full time so that I could put lots of new games up! |
