matt 15 May 2008 I've set up a Jet Set Willy forum if anyone is interested in seeing it developed. http://www.darnkitty.com/ jsw/
andrewbroad 14 May 2008 New high of 29079 for Cavern 14 - I can't say it's perfect, but if not, it must be very close!
andrewbroad 14 May 2008 On the other hand, the online high-score table - where you have to defend your high scores every two months - is extremely addictive!
andrewbroad 14 May 2008 And the way you can fall onto a conveyor and walk the wrong way along it. And the inaccurate collision-detection for guardians.
andrewbroad 14 May 2008 There are also differences in the game-mechanics: most notably that a left/right jump advances you by 19 steps rather than 18.
ballinj 14 May 2008 great game - only difference from original is no extra life for passing the 10,000 mark.
andrewbroad 11 May 2008 New high of 21567 for Cavern 11, though I could have done at least 21 points better.
andrewbroad 10 May 2008 Flash Jet Set Willy is now being discussed in the Manic Miner forum on this site.
andrewbroad 10 May 2008 Inoculated Cavern 10 with a perfect high of 19807. I now have perfect highs for Caverns 1 to 10, and imperfect highs for 11 to 14 and 31.
jetsetdanny 08 May 2008 that you can achieve a great score at ANY moment - it seems so much within your grasp. But then you keep playing, and playing, and playing, and nothing, for hours you can't even go over 4000 pts.
jetsetdanny 08 May 2008 it might take me days or weeks to achieve, plus a tremendous frustration. Unless I got lucky again. That's the problem with the game - it's so addictive, because you know ...
jetsetdanny 08 May 2008 and one or two barely over 4000 pts., and then suddenly there's this one fantastic game where I go over 7000 pts. and further into the rounds than ever before. But if I wanted to repeat that score
jetsetdanny 08 May 2008 What I find puzzling about "Cheese, Louise!" is how irregular it is. I keep playing for hours getting dozens of scores in the 2000-2999 pts. range, with just several over 3000 pts. ...
jetsetdanny 08 May 2008 The 7308 score came about as a combination of my very good playing form (in the third day of intensive playing) and lucky arrangements of the cheeses (easy to avoid and conducive to perfect rounds).
jetsetdanny 08 May 2008 and I think I haven't misfired any bullets, firing selectively trying to get perfect scores. 4. For rounds above 18: a similar tactic but with more emphasis on just trying to survive.
jetsetdanny 08 May 2008 3. For Rounds more or less 9-18: firing continuously while moving from the very left to the right and then back. Then, when there are 2 or 3 "cheeses" left ...
jetsetdanny 08 May 2008 (taking the risks to do it, which aren't very high yet). 2. Moving rather quickly through rounds 6-8, firing continuously (the bonus isn't worth the risk there IMO) ...
jetsetdanny 08 May 2008 Congratulations on your third all-time result, devo2 . I don't have a real strategy, no. Some elements I have applied: 1. trying to get perfect rounds on levels 1-5...
andrewbroad 06 May 2008 I just reached Round 20 of Cheese, Louise! with a lower score than for 18 and 19. I'm getting more nimble, but Round 20 is much harder!
devo2 05 May 2008 wow thats an impressive score, 7308. it wud take me 3 days to get that! do you have a strategy? (spill it!)
