I'm glad I was able to finish 2008 with a double clean sweep of the top 6s . Now I will try to refrain from playing in January and just watch how the scoreboard changes under Andrew's

It would have been nice to get Caverns 30 and 31 on December's scoreboard, but finishing JSW64:FMM was the most important thing. So on that note: Happy New Year!

So I finish 2008 with a monotonically-increasing series of all-time personal highs for Caverns 1-31 (the only other cavern I have ever died in was 43).

andrewbroad
31 December 2008
...but Cavern 29 was more important to me because my all-time personal high was less than my all-time world high for Cavern 28.

It would have been nice to make a dent in Danny's double clean sweep of the top 6s before 2008 passed into history...

New world all-time high of 57379 for Cavern 29 (beating jetsetdanny's 57200). I now hold the world all-time highs for Caverns 1-20, 25 and 27-30.

... and almost totally incomprehensible to a layman!

It's great to see it released, Andrew, I'll have a go at it before the year ends! Also, I've had a look at your discussion with mitkey on the MM Forum - fascinating stuff to read...

...the gamma-release of JSW64: FLASH MANIC MINER! See the Manic Miner Forum on this site for details.

Well, I have to scratch from playing Manic Miner online today, because I've been busy all day with...

World second best result ever in Manic Miner: 165413 points on Cavern 86 - to celebrate the end of 2008 - the year of great MM and Cheese, Louise! gaming .

andrewbroad
29 December 2008
Well, at least I had collected all the items when I died in Cavern 27 - that's when it accelerates. So I can only blame Cavern 18 and gross inefficiency.

andrewbroad
29 December 2008
I managed to set today's score for Cavern 29, but once again I failed to set one higher than the all-time high for Cavern 28, as Caverns 18 and 27 took their tolls yet again.

andrewbroad
28 December 2008
Well, I could have gained an additional 200 points by sacrificing two lives in Cavern 27, but no way was I going to risk that after my recent struggles with "Phat"!

andrewbroad
28 December 2008
I return to the top 5 with a new world all-time high of 57095 for Cavern 28. I was very efficient, all three lives were deliberately sacrificed, so I would be surprised to see this score ever beaten.

Thanks, Danny. I have updated my records accordingly.

So there is a world high score registered for Cavern 41, should that be of interest to you .

jetsetdanny
28 December 2008
The highest scores of some other players are: topofthetree - 73509 pts. on Cavern 41 on 14 Apr 2007 and jogo76 - 50860 pts. on Cavern 28 on 10 Apr 2007.

I have never set scores for Caverns: 33, 35, 37, 38, 41 or 42.
